This is a great opportunity and valuable job experience for individuals age 13 - 15.
The Counselor-In-Training program provides a unique opportunity to develop skills necessary for working with children in a hands-on environment. CIT’s will be involved in the daily camp activities assisting camp staff with camp projects, camper’s activities, lesson plans and more. CIT’s must be 14 years of age by the first day of camp. To become a CIT, the following procedures must be followed:
- Informational packets will be mailed in late April. Packets should be completed and returned on the date of your interview.
- In May, prospective CIT's will be contacted to schedule an interview. Bring all paperwork, along with 3 goals of what you would like to learn through this program.
- Once the interviews are complete, CIT's will be notified of their status. Those selected will need to attend the mandatory orientation. After the orientation, staff will determine placement based on CIT's schedule and availability. CIT’s are not placed in 6th -8th grade camps. A refund will be issued if you are not accepted.
