Paws Park to Reopen by October 5

As part of the referendum project, Paws Park has been relocated to the far end of the Oakton property. The new dog park area has been seeded with a custom grass and clover blend selected to provide durable ground cover and improve overall site conditions. We anticipate Paws Park will reopen no later than Monday, October 5

Reminder: Only two dogs per owner are allowed in the park at any one time. Dogs under the age of 6 months are not allowed in the Park.

Resident Tag Fee: $65 (plus $20 for each additional dog)

Non-Resident Tag Fee: $100 (plus $40 for each additional dog)

Lost Access Key Cards: Replacement cards may be purchased at the Oakton Sports Complex front desk for $15.

 

Membership Year

The 2027 membership year are now on sale. To purchase your pass, please visit the front desk at the Oakton Sports Complex. If you would like to complete your registration form electronically, click the button below. Once submitted, please visit the Oakton Sports Complex to finalize payment and pick up your access card.

In order to purchase a tag and receive an access code to the park, dog owners must provide:

  • Written proof of residency
  • Current city dog tag
  • Current vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Para-Influenza, Bordetella, and Parvovirus, unless an exemption to this requirement has been granted by the Park District upon the written recommendation from the owner’s veterinarian. 
  • Written proof must also be given to verify there was an examination within the past year for any communicable diseases, including the examination of a stool specimen for internal parasites.

Park Rules

General Use
  • Use of Paws Park is at your own risk.
  • Owners are fully responsible for their dogs at all times.
  • Dogs must be supervised at all times - no unattached dogs.
Entry & Membership
  • A valid Paws Park key card is required for entry at all times.
  • Do not allow non-members into the park and do not share your key card.
  • Please ensure the gates are full closed and latched behind you.
Dog Behavior & Safety
  • All dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the park.
  • Remove leash immediately once inside the park.
  • Dogs must be removed from the park immediately at the first sign of aggression.
  • Excessive barking is not permitted.
  • Keep dogs away from the gate during entry/exit of others.
  • Dogs under 25 pounds may use the "small dog" area of the park.
Dog Requirements
  • Dogs must be healthy and free of contagious illness, fully immunized, de-wormed, and must display a Park Ridge city dog tag and a Cook County rabies tag at all times.
  • Dogs under 6 months of age are not permitted in the park.
  • Female dogs in heat are prohibited from the park.
  • Required vaccinations include: rabies, distemper, hepatitis, para-influenza, bordetella, parvovirus, and written proof of an examination of a stool specimen for internal parasites.
  • Due to the park's proximity to a forest preserve, flea and tick prevention is strongly recommended for all dogs.
Park Etiquette
  • Immediately pick up after your dog (bags are provided).
  • Fill in any holes your dog digs.
  • No food (human or dog) is allowed inside the park.
  • Cooperation and respect are expected among dog owners.
Additional Guidelines
  • Only two dogs per person will be allowed in the park at any given time.
  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Collars must be worn at all times. No prong, pinch, or spiked collars.
Incident Reporting
  • In the event of a dog bite, please call 911 immediately and report the incident to the Park Ridge Police Department and the Oakton Facility Manager.
  • Report unsafe conditions or unauthorized use to the Oakton Sports Complex.
Enforcement
  • Infraction of these rules may result in suspension or termination of park privileges without refund.
