Pop-Up Violin Concert

Join us this Friday, July 16, at Hodges Park for a pop up concert featuring Park Ridge residents Lesley Chen McCool and Ai Ishida Melby. When you are walking through uptown this Friday shopping or picking up dinner from one of Park Ridge's great establishments, take a moment to stop by to listen to these experienced artists perform in front of the Hodges Park fountain. Lesley and Ai will perform for approximately 45 minutes starting at 7:30pm. Their repertoire includes works by Bach, Mozart, O’Connor, and more!

Originally from the Boston area, violinist Lesley Chen McCool holds a Bachelors of Music and Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, and a Masters of Music from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Passionate about music education, Lesley was a founding member and General Manager of the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestras, and was the String Program Manager at the Merit School of Music in Chicago. A former member of the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, El Paso Symphony, and Las Cruces Symphony, Lesley currently runs her own private teaching studio in Park Ridge, IL.

Ai Ishida Melby was born and raised in Tokyo by two musicians from the New Japan Philharmonic. In Japan, she studied viola at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Her viola studies continued at Northern Illinois University, where she won the concerto competition with her performance of Bartok’s Viola Concerto.
