Beginning the week of September 20, restoration work will take place at the Centennial Sled Hill. Access to the upper plateau will be restricted at the entrance near the stairs. The stairs will remain accessible so runners can continue using them for exercise. The hill will be sectioned off approximately halfway up to reduce foot traffic while work to bring the hill back to safety standards.
As one of the District's largest parks, Centennial Park offers a wide variety of amenities and is home to three of our facilities. Bring a picnic lunch to sit under the pavilion - a space which is also available for private rental. The large playground area has something for both young and older children, and the walking track around the park provides a passive exercise space. During winter months, the Centennial Sled Hill is a busy attraction for residents of all ages.
