Programs

This league provides participants with the opportunity to learn and play floor hockey in a safe and fun environment. Players learn positions, stick handling and ball control in this fun, fast-paced class. In addition, players develop teamwork and sportsmanship while having fun competitive gameplay each week. Safety and having fun are a MUST when you step on the floor. Come ready to play!

Sections & Details

A different game will be played each week, although games may be repeated throughout the session. Dodgeball, kickball, and other niche games like speedball and sabaki ball. Games will typically be played while walking / speed-walking to reduce the physicality of the sport, depending on what is played each week. All equipment will be provided.

Played similar to a traditional soft pitch baseball, field size will be adjusted to be smaller to reduce physical demands of running around bases, or playing the field. Pitches are thrown underhand, in a lob type fashion, and will be umpired the same as slow pitch softball. A soft, slow pitch softball will be used. Bats and helmets will be provided, although you may bring your own if you desire, please plan to bring your own glove for play.

The primary rule modification from traditional flag football is the prohibition of running while on and off the ball. Players must maintain contact with the ground at all times. Like traditional flag football, the sport is non-contact, eliminating tackles and blocking. While running is forbidden, players are still encouraged to maintain a quick walking pace to keep the game engaging. A regulation size football will be used, and flags will be provided.

During games, it will be walking only for all players; players must keep at least one foot on the ground at all times, preventing running. There is no contact, slide tackles and physical contact are not allowed. Games will be played with smaller fields and goals, this reduces the physical demands of the game and encourages more interaction. A size 5 soccer ball will be used, penny's are provided to make teams.
