Jump start your garden by starting seeds indoors. With a shorter growing season than our southern neighbors, some plants need a head start before the last frost date of spring. Mix up nutritious soil, start the early seeds, and learn about ways to transplant and manage your seedlings once they get outside. 

Park Ridge Park District Board Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month. The public is invited to attend the meetings. The meeting will be held at the Wohlers Hall Administrative Building located at Prospect Park, 733 N. Prospect Ave.

Hundreds of eggs filled with candy are hidden outdoors behind Maine Park. Find a Golden Egg and win a special prize such as gift cards and other cool stuff! Just bring your flashlight and a bag or basket to collect all your eggs.

Grab your flashlight and set out on a hunt for eggs hidden throughout the Wildwood Prairie. If you are lucky, your eggs will be filled with candy or maybe even a gift card!

Turn your family into scientists and explore fun science concepts with us! Make cool discoveries through experiments, projects, and play. April's theme is Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles.

Hop on over to the Centennial Fitness Center for our Egg Dip! Plastic eggs are floating in the pool for kids to collect. We are dividing the dips into age groups. Please bring a waterproof container for your child to collect their eggs.

Get Healthy, Well-thy, and Wise this year at the Park District’s active adult expo. Enjoy demonstrations, raffles, screenings, educational discussions, service exhibits, and much more. Admission is free with a donation of a canned good benefiting the Maine Township food pantry.

Donate your used bike or trike to the 10th Annual Pedals for the Parks Bike & Trike Exchange, hosted by the Park Ridge Friends of the Parks. Your donation benefits programs of the Park Ridge Friends of the Parks and promotes reuse and bicycling in our community! Donors receive:

• 20% off the purchase of another bike at our sale
• A tax deductible donation
• Early shopping privileges the day of the sale

Join us for Earth Day Work Day, the perfect opportunity for service hours or simply giving back to the community in the spirit of Earth Day. We are cleaning up the Maine Park woodland, pond, and prairie.

Enjoy fun earth-inspired activities, create recycled crafts, discover live birds of prey and creatures big and small in the animal show, shop from eco-friendly vendors, learn from “green” organizations, give Smokey Bear and the Lorax a high five, and rope climb up a tree. In case of inclement weather, the event will be indoors at Maine Park Leisure Center.

Middle Schoolers, grab your swimsuit, towel, and friends and head over to the Centennial Fitness Center for a private pool party! Pre-registration is required and no at-the-door registration will be accepted.

The 10th Annual Pedals for the Parks Bike & Trike Sale, hosted by the Park Ridge Friends of the Parks, benefits programs of the Park Ridge Friends of the Parks and promotes reuse and bicycling in our community!

• Credit card payment strongly preferred. No checks will be accepted.
• Individuals who donated bikes on April 15 are invited to shop early from 9:00am-10:00am.
• Register your bike with the Park Ridge Police Department.
• Helmet Fitting & Sale by Advocate Lutheran General Hospital - $11 per helmet (cash or check)
