Programs

Campers can choose from fresh pizza, pastas, chicken tenders, and more from Spuntino Pizza. We provide hot and cold nutritious and delicious lunches delivered directly to your child’s camp. Orders and changes are due the Wednesday before the first day of each camp session. To make adjustments to your child’s lunch order, please call Maine Park at 847-692-5127 or email camplunch@prparks.org. We will not be able to make changes to the lunch order it has been submitted to the provider. For more information, please contact Meghan O’Neill at 847-292-8906. Please remember there is no lunch service on field trip days.

Before Care includes low-key activities like free play, board games, art, and movies. Before Care is held at Maine Park and staff accompanies campers to their camp sites either by walking or in a Park District bus. Registration is for Monday-Friday, but can be prorated for campers attending 2 or 3-day camps. Please contact Maine Park at 847-692-5127 for any scheduling adjustments. Before Care is not available for all camps. Please look for the Before Care symbols to know if this option is available for your camp. Please note: if registering for Sports Camp, Camp Rewind, SSO Camp Rewind, Teen Trail Blazers, SSO Teen Trail Blazers, or Art Extravaganza, you will need to register for Before Care at Centennial.

Don’t let the summer end in a haze! There’s still time to make more great memories with one more week of camp fun. Awesome August includes water activities, jumbo lawn games, free play, crafts, and active sports. Campers need to bring a water bottle, swimsuit, sunscreen, and towel daily. Awesome August does not provide transportation to/from specialty camps. See Before & After Care to extend your day. Space is limited!

The Counselor in Training program provides a unique opportunity to develop skills necessary for working with children in a hands-on environment. C.I.T.'s are involved in daily activities assisting camp staff with camp projects, activities, and lesson plans. C.I.T.'s must be 13 years of age by the first day of camp. Here are the steps to becoming a C.I.T. 1. Informational packets are emailed in late April. Packets should be completed and brought with you to your interview. 2. In May, prospective C.I.T.'s are contacted to schedule an interview. Bring all paperwork, along with three goals of what you would like to learn through this program. 3. Once the interviews are complete, C.I.T.'s are notified of their status. Those selected need to attend the mandatory orientation. After the orientation, staff determines placement based on the C.I.T.’s schedule and availability. C.I.T.'s are not placed in older grade camps. A refund is issued if you are not accepted. C.I.T. Orientation (Mandatory) - Wednesday, May 20, 6:00pm-8:00pm at MPLC.
