Prospect Park Splash Pad

The Splash Pad features a large, pirate-themed water play area surrounded by beautiful Prospect Park.

Centennial Aquatic Center, Hinkley Pool, South Park Wading Pool, and the Prospect Park Splash Pad are planned to open this summer following the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s (DCEO) Phase 4 mitigation guidelines. 

  • Advance reservations for visits will be required. 
  • Pool passes will not be offered this year. 
  • Should mitigation guidelines change, staff will adjust operations as appropriate.

Weather Policy

Opening and closing of the pool is subject to prevailing weather conditions, including cold weather (temperature at 68 degrees or below) electrical or thunder storms, or heavy rain. Or, if there are no guests for two hours at the Prospect Park Splash Pad.

Facility Rentals

Private rentals at the Prospect Park Splash Pad are available 7 days a week from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Private rentals are for groups of 40 or less and the fee is $200 resident/$280 non-resident. Rentals are currently available for the month of July, and priority registration opens Monday, June 29 for residents online at our website at with activity code 4210317. Rental registration will open for non-residents on July 9. Private Splash Pad rentals may add on a private room rental at the Paula Hassell O’Connor Community Building, or you may also rent the Prospect Park Pavilion. Ask for details.
