Explore gears using LEGO®, as we work to find out how gears help make the
world turn. We’ll make projects that crank, mesh, pump, push, pull, tug or
grind. All of which turn out to be very useful simple machines.
4110815 / Glitzy Girlz: End of Summer Luau Glam Night
Come join Glitzy Girlz staff (glitzygirlz.com) and head to Hawaii before school starts!
Our staff will be glamming up the girls with hair flower, make-up sparkle and pretty nail polish application complete with flower nail stickers. They will decorate a craft with paints, stencils and flower embellishments/jewels. They will also design a fun beaded bracelet with Hawaiian charms. Each participant will receive a take home outfit of a flower lei and a flowered Hawaiian skirt for photos at our Palm Tree Backdrop and props. The class ends with Maraca Freeze Dance and Limbo line! Come vacay with friends!

5110111 / Champion's Chess Corner
Designed for beginners with little to no chess experience. This program introduces you to the ultimate game of tactics and strategy at an energizing pace. Participants will develop critical thinking skills while having fun and staying fully engaged. These lessons surely leave you wanting more!
About the Mentor: International Master Arjun Vishnuvardhan became an IM at 16 and has a strong competitive record, including the British Junior Chess Championship (2001) and the U.S. National G/60 Chess Championship (2006). He leads many chess programs, inspiring players of all levels to grow and enjoy the game.

Sponsored by Safe Sitter, is sure to get your teen on the right track to become a babysitter. Participants will learn how to care for a choking infant or child, basic first aid, personal safety for the babysitter, injury prevention, how to care for children, preventing problem behavior, behavior management, ethics and babysitting as a business. Program includes a babysitting manual and a completion card. Participants should bring a baby-sized doll and lunch to class.

Dollars and Sense: Smart Money Skills for Kids
Ages: 8-11
Give your child a head start on their financial future! Through fun games and hands-on activities, students learn how money works in the real world. Understanding topics like savings, spending, debt, budgets, and interest will help students build a healthy relationship with money and start their journey toward a lifetime of financial literacy and independence! Taught by Financial Literacy for the Next Generation, a local business that is passionate about sharing financial literacy with students.
