Acquaviva Winery (Age 21 & Up) 2 Feet Visit Acquaviva Winery in Maple Park, a beautiful estate vineyard known for its award-winning wines and Italian charm. The day includes a guided tour of the winery and a wine tasting, where you’ll learn about the winemaking process and sample a variety of wines. Afterward, enjoy time to relax and have lunch on your own at the winery’s Italian-inspired ristorante while taking in the scenic vineyard views. Fee includes Winery Tour and tasting, and transportation. Lunch is on your own. Registration deadline: July 13.

Seussical The Musical St. James Theatre, Arlington Heights Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Seussical is fun for the whole family! Performers of all ages will be excited to portray the characters from the familiar Dr. Seuss fables. .

Homegrown Harvest Series A hands-on, seasonal gardening series to help you grow more food with less guesswork—learn what to do, when to do it, and how to keep your garden thriving from summer through fall. Each series is led by Katie Shamis of VK Gardens. Katie is a sustainability, garden consultant and educator who helps gardeners grow abundant, organic food with practical, low-stress methods that fit into real life. Grow Your Fall Garden - What to Plant Now for an Autumn Harvest August is the time to start your fall garden. Learn what to plant now for a strong autumn harvest. We’ll cover crop selection, timing for our area, and simple ways to extend your season. Great for raised beds or in-ground gardens. You’ll leave with a clear, doable refresh tasklist. Keep your garden going well beyond summer.

Seasonal Luminary Creations (Ages 18 & Up) As the days grow shorter and the evenings longer, brighten your home with a beautiful handmade mason jar luminary! In this creative class, participants will decorate glass jars using paint, glue and colorful tissue paper to create a glowing design that shines beautifully when illuminated. These charming luminaries make wonderful seasonal decorations or thoughtful handmade gifts. All materials provided. Instructor, Robin Moss. This is a contracted class. Mindful Holiday Zentangle Art (Ages 18 & Up) Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of mindfulness and creativity as you learn Zentangle-inspired drawing techniques. Participants will create holiday-themed artwork that can be used for greeting cards or framed for seasonal decorating and gift giving. All skill levels welcome, and supplies provided.
