Homegrown Harvest Series A hands-on, seasonal gardening series to help you grow more food with less guesswork—learn what to do, when to do it, and how to keep your garden thriving from summer through fall. Each series is led by Katie Shamis of VK Gardens. Katie is a sustainability, garden consultant and educator who helps gardeners grow abundant, organic food with practical, low-stress methods that fit into real life. Grow Your Fall Garden - What to Plant Now for an Autumn Harvest August is the time to start your fall garden. Learn what to plant now for a strong autumn harvest. We’ll cover crop selection, timing for our area, and simple ways to extend your season. Great for raised beds or in-ground gardens. You’ll leave with a clear, doable refresh tasklist. Keep your garden going well beyond summer.

Mindful Holiday Zentangle Art (Ages 18 & Up) Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of mindfulness and creativity as you learn Zentangle-inspired drawing techniques. Participants will create holiday-themed artwork that can be used for greeting cards or framed for seasonal decorating and gift giving. All skill levels welcome, and supplies provided. Instructor, Robin Moss. Registration deadline: 1-week prior to class date. This is a contracted class. CAC

Halloween Trolley Tour (Ages 21+) Dare to discover Naperville after dark! This guided Halloween Trolley Tour explores the city’s haunted history, mysterious stories, and chilling legends aboard a charming vintage-style trolley. From ghostly encounters to hidden secrets of the past, this unforgettable evening promises thrills, laughter, and Halloween excitement. Dine on choice of Fish & Chips, Reuben Sandwich, Shepherd’s Pie, or Cobb Salad. Fee includes dinner at Quigley’s Irish Pub, Trolley Tour and motor coach transportation. Jimmy Buffet’s Escape to Margaritaville (1 Foot) North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, Skokie Music Theater Works presents the first professional production of Jimmy Buffet’s Escape to Margaritaville in Chicago since its Broadway run. Set sail for a tropical getaway with this feel-good musical packed with island vibes and beloved Buffet classics. This lighthearted romantic comedy follows Tully, a laid-back island singer, and Rachel, a career-focused tourist, as their worlds collide at a beachfront resort. With a story about adventure, self-discovery, and living life to the fullest, Escape to Margaritaville is the ultimate musical vacation for Parrot Heads and newcomers alike. Fee includes lunch at Uncle Julio's, ticket and transportation. Registration deadline: October 2.

Students work toward development of the five core swimming competencies using age-appropriate learning activities. Learning is self-paced but challenging. Swimmers who are beginners up to those starting rotary breathing should sign up for Swim School.
